The ASA Coastal Navigation course is designed to teach you the skills necessary to navigate a vessel in coastal or inland waters. You will learn the various chart symbols, use of the plotting tools, plotting of courses and determine positions. You will learn where to get navigational information and how to unlock the information in tide and current tables, plotting leeway and calculating speed-time and distance along with many of the navigational basics such as dipping a light or steering a transit range. The navigation class is also given as a tutoring class for Captain Licensing. All the necessary plotting is included for the Captain exam.

Class starts Friday evening at 1800 till about 2200, then Saturday and Sunday 0900 to 1700.
The ASA radar course teaches safe, efficient use of small-craft radar for piloting, chart navigation, and collision avoidance, including radar principles and practical matters of radar operation.
