ASA Courses
ASA 101 Basic Sailing

No experience? No problem. This is the course for you. This comprehensive beginners course in offered with two full days of instruction followed by an optional Mentor Sail and a half-day on one of our practice boats. In this course you will get hands-on experience in the fundamentals of safety, sail handling, sailing upwind and down, man overboard, anchoring, docking and undocking.

ASA 103 Coastal Cruising

For the Basic Sailing (101) graduate or the sailor with limited experience looking to move up to larger boats or just increase their sailing knowledge, this is the course for you. This two-day course and optional “Mentor Sail” and half-day practice boat rental** will prepare you for the world of cruising auxiliaries.

ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising

Considering an extended sail or charter? This is the course for you. This two and a half day live-a-board course covers the skills needed to skipper or crew a 30 to 40 foot auxiliary sailboat by day or night in coastal waters. Boat systems and maintenance will be covered as well as provision planning, trip planning and emergency procedures.

ASA 105 Coastal Navigation

Be a navigator, not a “naviguesser”. The Coastal Navigation class is designed to provide you with working knowledge of basic to advanced piloting techniques. You will learn plotting methods, position fixing, associated publications, aids to navigation, weather, navigator’s routines and planning. This two and one half day classroom course covers navigational theory required to safely navigate a boat in coastal or inland waters. No previous certification is needed.

ASA 106 Advanced Coastal Cruising

This live-a-board course covers the skills needed to skipper or crew a 35 to 45 foot auxiliary sailboat, day or night, in coastal waters, in any weather. This is the most spectacular buy in sail instruction available today. It will be a rigorous and comprehensive sailing experience that can turn the novice into a seasoned charterer and give the more advanced charterer an experience one would be hard pressed to find elsewhere.

ASA Instructor Clinic

The ASA has over 225 member facilities in the US and the Islands . Become an ASA certified instructor. Course offered several times a year. Certification from Basic Keelboat Instructor through Bareboat Chartering Instructor available
 
Combination Courses
ASA 101 & 103

Combine Basic Sailing and Basic Cruising for four days of comprehensive instruction and savings. With the Open Dates option, you select you course dates a weekday Coastal Cruising and a Bareboat Chartering. Select continuous dates for four (4) full days of sailing with two (2) overnights. Boat accommodations can be arranged for the third night.

Basic Coastal Cruising and Bareboat Chartering  Sign-up for the combo course and save. Courses can be taken separately or continuous.
